Thrifting & Chalk Painting

North Carolina is like Disneyland for thrifters! Seriously, my mom was in heaven while she was here. The Durham Mission Thrift Stores and the Habitat for Humanity Restore had some amazing finds, way more good stuff than I have ever seen in a Goodwill or DI back home.

Here's some of the projects that I thrifted and chalk painted. I used the Hunter Girls DIY Life chalk painting recipe on my chairs and dresser.

Before shot of the chairs I thrifted, $6 each at the Durham Mission Thrift Store.

After picture of each of the chairs. I chalk painted each chair and recovered the seats with a table cloth I found at Target.

I forgot to snag a before shot of this, but it was pretty scary. White dresser with a floral design that was left on the curb for the trash at an apartment in Provo. I chalk painted and used the stain to give it an antique look.

I love this find! It's an old, rustic filing cabinet that I got for $5 at the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Durham. It's great for storing files, games, office supplies, etc. and it looks beautiful in our living room.

Now we just need to find a table, a desk, and a few other little pieces to complete our home!
