Harry Potter Party

It's no secret that I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan, so when I met another fan that loves the books and movies as much as I do, we decided to collaborate and throw a Harry Potter Party Halloween Party! It was so much fun! Out of 18 people, everyone came dressed as a different Harry Potter character. I wish I would have gotten better pictures of everyone's costumes, dang iPhone. A nice camera is on my wish list for my birthday.

Photo booth. Everyone got to take home polaroids from the party!

Hard to see (dang camera!) but we hung t-lights from the ceiling and stars to create the great hall.

Professor Quirrell and Flitch with Ms. Norris

Tonks, Lupin, Fang, Hagrid, and Vernon

Harry and Ron.

The Malfoys, Victor Krum, and Luna

Serious talent, they had to hand draw these!

All of the amazing costumes, Hedwig sitting front and center won the costume contest. What a fun group!

We divided into houses and played Harry Potter trivia. Hufflepuff won the house cup!

Some of the delicious food from the evening.

Don't mind the crooked banners, we hung them from nails that were already in the wall from our framed pictures.

This party was so much fun to throw, I wish I could just plan and throw parties for a living. Thank you to everyone who attended! I think this needs to be an annual thing, I already have plans for my costume for next year!

Favorite Holiday Things Party

I LOVE hosting parties and my new favorite is the Favorite Things Party. This is my second one with this group, so we decided to switch it up with a Saturday morning brunch and turning it into a Favorite HOLIDAY Things Party!

In case you don’t know what a "Favorite Things Party" is, here’s a rundown for you. Everyone coming to the party picks their favorite thing and brings three of whatever it is to the party. We set a budget of $5, so the max a guest would spend is $15. We had Christmas movies, red holiday tights, sparkly nail polish, red lip stick, a candle, a homemade Christmas countdown, Christmas socks and glittery hair ties from Nordstrom.

Then at the party, everyone puts their name in a bowl 3 times. We go around the room and have each person say what their favorite holiday thing is, and then draw three names to give their favorite thing to. By the end, everyone in the room goes home with three different items!

Due to snow, not everyone could make it (we missed you Chelsey, Dani and Oakley!). I got a holiday candle, Fred Claus, and sparkly hair ties from Nordstrom that don’t rip your hair out. These were all things I needed too!

I love hosting these fun parties because it’s a great excuse to get together and have a girls day. Plus, we had a delicious brunch with pastries galore and the most delicious baked pumpkin French toast ever (thank you Erika!).

The Christmas countdown was so cute!

Grateful for fun friends!

The girls (Brianne is missing from the group photo because she had to leave for work before the boys got back to take the picture.)
