Graduation Weekend

Two weekends ago Todd graduated with his Masters in Healthcare Administration from UNC! I am so incredibly proud of him and all of the hard work he has put in during his two years here. In November he accepted a fellowship at St. Luke's hospital in Houston, so we are packing up and heading to Texas!

Sunday after graduation we headed to Italy with our family (blog post to come!) so we came back to a week full of packing and crossing things off of our NC bucket list before our move next week. It feels like we just moved here and now we are packing up for another cross country move. We are excited for the change, but we are going to miss NC like crazy! I love this beautiful state, the yummy food, and all of our amazing friends.

Here are some pictures from graduation:

Cheers to Chapel Hill and UNC and the wonderful time we've had here. Onto our next adventure!

The Big Move to North Carolina

Initially when we decided we would be moving out to North Carolina for Todd to attend grad school, it seemed forever away, but the actual move was a blur! After 35 hours of driving, seven states, and two mountain ranges, we made it to Chapel Hill where we will be living for the next two years.

The drive was long, but so much fun to see our beautiful country along the way! Thanks to my mom, I had someone to talk to the entire way since Todd drove the truck and I had to take the car. It's pretty humid out here so far, but we have been able to enjoy some delicious southern food, like Farm Burger in Ashville, The Q Shack in Durham and the famous boberry biscuits at Bojangles. We also enjoyed watching the fireworks at UNC's stadium, apparently it's one of the top ten Fourth of July celebration's in the nation, who knew?!

We are still getting settled, but we are excited to be here and can't wait to explore our new home. Here's a quick video of our adventure via Clipper. More pics and posts to come soon!

The Hardys are Moving!

After a year of studying for the GMAT, applications, interviews, and serious amounts of stress, we FINALLY know where we are moving- Chapel Hill, North Carolina! Todd will begin UNC's MHA program in the fall. I'm so proud of all of his hard work and for getting into such an amazing program! We have two months until we move, and no, we have not packed a thing!

Obviously we are stressing a little trying to find an apartment, the best way to move our stuff, and going through all of the extra crap we don't need (which apparently is a lot!). But we are both very excited for the change and to live on the east coast. Be prepared for lots of mini vacations all over the east coast!

We have a lot to get done before we leave: two trips to Colorado, Todd's graduation, the Bolder Boulder, Taylor's mission farewell, a car to fix, weddings... the list goes on and on. Not to mention working on the new Hunter Girls DIY Life blog. If you haven't checked it out, you should. Oh and did I mention Todd's car got stolen? So now we are down to one car which makes things pretty difficult. Please don't take offense if we fall off the grid for a little bit, we have a lot to get done!

Holidays, Coco, Moving.. Life

Needless to say I'm not the best at blogging, but part of the reason is my computer is dead (RIP) so I am on an iPad. My other excuse is life is just so busy lately..

So first off, Todd and I are new parents! Before you get too excited, no I did not have a baby and no I am not pregnant. Everyone was surprised by our purchase of a cat, and we were the most surprised. We wanted a pet since we are moving into a new pet friendly apartment this month. We wanted a puppy but we felt bad having one without a yard and since we are both gone all day for work and school, we would not have had time to train it or let it out. So we decided to get a kitten. Sporadically last Friday night after our ward Christmas party, Todd surprised me by taking me to Pets Mart just to look. There were only 3 cats but I wanted to hold one so I picked the fluffy white one with spots. When she pulled her out she instantly crawled into my lap then went over to Todd. After an hour of holding her we went home and decided she was perfect for our family. So the next morning we showed up right as it opened to adopt her. That day she would have been sent back to the kennel so we saved her right in time.

I know some people were surprised by our choice, some even left rude comments to show it, but she really is the sweetest cat. She doesn't scratch, bite or make messes. Aside from occasionally wanting to play at 3 in the morning, she's perfect and we love our cat Coco.

Now we are just trying to get ready for the holidays and pack up our apartment for moving day in two weeks. Not to mention we have finals, increased hours at work,  a relief society lesson to prepare and other obligations from now until then. Despite the craziness, we love our lives and look forward to spending a relaxing week with the family in Colorado for Christmas (we are anxious to see how Coco handles the 8 hour car ride).

We have been married for 6 months this past weekend and I am so thankful for our wonderful marriage. We have had so much fun together and have over come some trying challenges. Despite the stress of life, this has been the best time of our lives and everyday is an adventure.
