Good Luck on the Job Front

Yesterday I received a phone call from a business asking me to come in for a job interview for a PR specialist position. The wonderful thing about this was I was actually able to (politely) say no because I finally have a job!

Two weeks ago I started working for the Walton Group Inc. a public relations and advertising group in Provo. I love working with the owner, Linda Walton and the account supervisor. It was the first time that I actually enjoyed going to work.

Then, over the past couple weeks I have had a series of interviews at an advertising group in Sandy. After three interviews, I am now the Social Media Coordinator at Idyllwild Advertising and I start Tuesday! I couldn't be more excited. After my first interview I came home and told Todd that I really wanted this job. When I was offered the position, I couldn't believe it! I am so excited to start next week and work really hard doing something I love.

I am able to work both positions thanks to the schedules they have set. I am so thankful for this wonderful blessing in my life and thankful for all the people who have prayed for me. I am excited for these new opportunities. I got to a point where I gave up and settled for jobs outside of my field. Aside from all the negatives that came with each job (doctors on probation, sitting in a dark office with nothing to do, dingy call centers) I wasn't happy because I wanted to use the degree I earned. So I took a leap of faith and quit my job and expanded my search. At first it didn't work out the way I thought it would, but I ended up with something even better. Plus in the three weeks I was unemployed I had a family reunion to attend, my family was in town and I was sick. Needless to say it was the perfect three weeks to be jobless. Plus I have been able to focus on my running and training for my next half and on being a new wife.

I saw this on Facebook the week I quit and found out I didn't get the job I thought I was quitting for. I was devastated at the time, but now I know it is true.

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!
